We collect personal information in two ways: information you provide to us directly, and information collected automatically when you visit the Site.

Information you provide

When you fill in a form on the Site or otherwise communicate with us, we collect the information you choose to share. This typically includes:

  • Contact requests: full name, work email, company name, company website, project budget, type of help required, and any free-text message you send.
  • Careers applications: full name, email, CV or portfolio link, location, and any information you include in your application.
  • Newsletter subscriptions ("Applica Digest"): your name and email address.
  • Direct communications: the content of emails or other messages you send to us.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain technical information about your device and your visit, including IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, time zone, referring URLs, pages visited, and timestamps. We refer to this information as "Device Information".

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

Legal basis for processing (UK/EU)

  • Consent — for newsletter subscriptions and for non-essential cookies and analytics, where applicable.
  • Performance of a contract / steps prior to a contract — when you contact us about engaging our services or apply for a job.

  • Service providers and processors who help us run the Site, including our hosting provider (Vercel), product analytics provider (PostHog), form-routing automation (Zapier), and email and CRM tools. These providers process personal information on our behalf under written agreements.
  • Professional advisors such as lawyers, accountants, and auditors, when required for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
  • Authorities and others when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Applica, our clients, or others.
  • Corporate transactions — in the event of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of business assets, your information may be transferred to a successor entity, subject to the protections of this Privacy Policy.

International transfers

Applica is based in the United Kingdom and works with service providers located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Where we transfer your personal information outside the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or transfers to jurisdictions recognized as providing an adequate level of data protection.

Cookies and tracking

We use a small number of essential and analytics cookies. Essential cookies are required for the Site to function. Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.   • The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no industry-standard interpretation of DNT signals, and we do not currently respond to them. We do, however, honor cookie and consent preferences set through the Site.

Children's data

The Site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps to remove it.

Changes to this policy
